WHAT IS GIVE A KID A CHANCE?
At the end of every summer, families in our community are beginning to gather school supplies for their kids to have educational success. When a family is living paycheck to paycheck, this can be extremely difficult to do. Children often have to learn to make do with what they have, even if that means returning to school without the proper essentials they need to succeed. Give a Kid a Chance is a community outreach event designed to provide students in Cherokee and Pickens counties with new backpacks and school supplies so they are prepared to attend school on the first day ready to learn with the tools they need!

A DAY OF JOY
Give A Kid A Chance was a huge success! During the event, students had the opportunity to pick out a backpack, fill it with school supplies, and have fun participating in games and activities. Parents/guardians learned about community resources that offer additional help when needed. Additionally, as families left, they were given a meal to take home! Thank you to everyone who donated their time and resources so kids in our community could start the school year with everything they need.
