Turning clothes into food – and more

July 21st, 2014

Among the many successes of the 9th annual Give a Kid a Chance is our relationship with SERV International. Here's a note we received from the folks at SERV. A representative of SERV spent the day at Give a Kid a Chance handing out vouchers for a free bag of food. The extra clothing left at the end of the day was given to SERV, who turned it around to food for hungry people. Read on:

What an amazing, God-filled day at Give a Kid a Chance! I was so thrilled to represent SERV and be a small part of your big day. I enjoyed every moment, and was in awe of what you and your team accomplished. What a ministry!

We cannot thank you enough for allowing us to pick up the remaining clothes. We collected 52 bags, which equates to feeding 2,600 people! We also handed out more than 230 bags of food, most of which came from GAKAC! We were so excited to partner with you and help these families in Cherokee County. Cheryl, on behalf of all of us at SERV, we thank you for all that you do for so many. You are a blessing!
